Surprise and Appreciation

Today, I made some cake pops for a friend. As I was just "messing around", trying new designs and things, I accidentally made a pumpkin!

I can't wait to make Halloween Cake Pops. If you know me, you know I love Halloween. It was a nice surprise to make something so cute.

I also made chocolate, chocolate, chocolate (of course) cake pops for a few nurses at a local hospital. Nothing fancy, just confetti cake coated in white or dark chocolate. Some had coconut, some had both the white and dark chocolate, I hope all are delicious.

The Merry Month of May-Thank a Teacher

Fake Pops

I posted on our Facebook page (don't forget to "like" us!) that we attempted to sell our Cake Pops on Saturday, outside in the searing heat and humidity of South Texas. It didn't work out too well.

While trying to figure out how we could keep the pops chilled, it occurred to me that restaurants have those fake desserts that they bring to your table to tempt you. So I said "Hey, I'll make fake cake pops for display!"

So I did.

They ALMOST look real, right?!

They make edible glitter that we could use, but those are REAL sprinkles!

This is "chocolate" with sprinkles. Notice the "white chocolate" in the background.

I call the one in the front "sunburst."

They were really fun to make, pretty funny to look at, and totally inedible. They WILL come in handy for a display though.

Pops and Humidity

Cherry Bomb is located in deep south Texas. We are in a tropical climate, near the gulf coast. It is hot and HUMID 11 months out of the year.

We attempted to sell our cake pops outside yesterday for the first time. It didn't go really well. Our pops were melting in the sun, they were sweating in the humidity; it wasn't pretty. They WERE still delicious, but we watched our hard decorating work kind of melt away.....

When you receive your cake pops order, try to keep them in a cool, dry place. The candy melt they are dipped in is a lot like the chocolate you would find on a chocolate covered cherry or in a box of Whitman's chocolates. If we had refrigerated your pops before, we will let you know to keep them refrigerated. This will keep them from falling off of the stick before you get a chance to enjoy the entire dessert!

How Many Makes a Bazillion?

Today, we made a bazillion cake pops. Well, maybe not a BAZILLION, but it felt like it!

We filled two orders (thank you very much) and will sell the remaining pops on Saturday, in the plaza by Conn's off Dixieland Road in Harlingen.

Vanilla, Vanilla, Vanilla

Last night, I made some vanilla cake pops with vanilla cake, vanilla frosting and vanilla candy melt. The candy melt was a beautiful lavender color. I topped some with coconut and some with sprinkles. I have two sad photos of them, because as soon as they set, they were eaten by members of my household, and I can't take pictures as nice as Bakerella!
